Associate Professor Shelley is Senior Lecturer in Social Epidemiology and Health Inequalities in the School of Health and Social Development, Deakin University. She teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate level and also supervises higher degree students. Associate Professor Shelley has an active research program covering various aspects of reproductive health, abortion and social context and health. She was a chief investigator on the NHMRC-funded Australian Longitudinal Study of Health and Relationships, a cohort study aiming to document key areas of reproductive and sexual health over the life course. She joined the ASHR2 team to contribute her expertise on sexual and reproductive health, particularly contraception, unintended pregnancy and termination of pregnancy.
